Clive Barker's Salomé & The Forbidden (1998)

Do you think 'Salome' & 'The Forbidden' should be considered as part of Clive's 'official' films?

Since he put them up for DVD purchasing yes. If they were put up for free viewing via streaming or as added content to other DVDs no. So yes they become official as they are now profitable for him.

I watched The Forbidden again last weekend. It's been ages since I last watched it. This time I did it with the NECA puzzle box in hand, which confirms my OCD. Some of the code that Clive is drawing on the screen looks like an almost exact match for some of the symbols on the Lament Configuration. There is also a quick shot of a book dealing with equations and velocity manipulations and relativity. Then there is a murky shot of the entire code. This code Clive's Faust is writing to summon the angels is called hieroglyphs in a story board at Revelations.

Peter Atkins had his hands on the code at one point and the symbol right next to his finger was a dead ringer for one from the Lament. He rips the code apart and begins putting it back together, forming a new configuration...Black birds and then the nail board makes its appearance.

This movie was fascinating to watch again with the notion that it’s a precursor to The Hell-bound Heart and Hellraiser.

I'll have to watch those again, if I can make it through the half hour of previews and topless vampires.

I have that DVD! I also have the two films on the Anchor Bay UK puzzle box set, which is delightfully free of the horrible Vampira wannabe.

Oh wow. I didn't know they released it on anything other than the "Vampire Edition". Pfft
